Sayed participated in a 9 week artist in residency at Otis College in the summer of 2019, right before the Covid-19 pandemic. This residency was extremely formative, as the time he spent exploring Los Angeles led him to moving to the city at the conclusion of the residency. He started several paintings at Otis that he ended up completing after moving to LA.
